Step Quest privacy policy
Effective October 1, 2026.
Step Quest is a game that turns your daily steps into progress in a space autobattler. This policy explains what the app reads, what it keeps, and where that stays.
What Step Quest reads
- Your step counts, from Health Connect. With your
permission, the app reads the number of steps you took each day. Once,
when you first allow access, it also reads your daily step counts for up
to 30 days before you installed Step Quest, so your history isn’t empty.
It asks for step counts only (the
READ_STEPSpermission) and nothing else: no location, heart rate, sleep or any other health data. Steps you entered by hand are left out. Step Quest never writes to Health Connect.
What Step Quest keeps
- Your daily step counts and daily goals
- Your game progress: Step Energy, Credits, streak, ship parts, consumables, cleared stages and battle records
- Your settings: your callsign, auto-use, and notification choices
Where it stays
Everything stays on your phone, in the app’s private storage. Step Quest has no servers and no accounts, and it doesn’t send your data anywhere. There are no ads, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The app’s data is excluded from cloud backups and from transfers to a new phone.
How your step data is used
Step counts are used only to work out your Step Energy, goals, streaks and daily crates, and to show your step history. They are never sold, shared, used for advertising, or used for anything but the game. This follows the Health Connect permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Notifications
If you turn them on, the goal reminder and the streak alert are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent from a server.
Your choices
- Revoke step access at any time in Health Connect’s settings. The game keeps working with the steps it already has.
- Delete your data in Settings, under Delete my data. This erases everything Step Quest has stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app does the same. Health Connect keeps its own step records, which you manage in Health Connect.
Children
Step Quest isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app with a new effective date.
